ARRANGED MARRIAGES: DO THEY WORK?

 Are arranged marriages making a comeback? These were organised in the times of our parents where family or friends would look at two people they know and believe would compliment each other and they would convince one to date and engage the other. For many there’s the choice to continue after first meeting. However, in a lot of other cultures, these meetings were already sealed amongst the families and the couple would meet knowing that they would be married to the other within days or weeks.

With the dearth in love relationships, the distance that social media brings, the presence of COVID etc, many more people are opting for arranged relationships. The question is “do they work?”
